Proteas: Never back down

Watching the Proteas whitewash the Aussies (Australians) 5-0 in Centurion, Johannesburg, Durban, PE and Cape Town was AWESOME! And what is magnificent and gives satisfaction is that everybody said we will suck with the racial quotas CSA enforced. We did that and look now! We beat the World Champs! the Trick is! Never back down.

We were missing throughout the series at one point or another 7 players including AB de Villiers, but under Fafs leadership we excelled. I know understand why AB said in his autobiography that Faf were better cricketer than him at school level, (from grade 8 for the 1st team and he scored more runs than him.

And it helped that Aus didn’t bother to bring their best bowlers. How Arrogant. I am glad we beat the smugness of their faces. All our players excelled. Andile Phlekuwayo and Thabriaz Shamsi are bets for the future.

Dwaine Pretorius should be given more time! After scoring a 100 against Ireland in Benoni in an exhibition match I feel Temba Bavuma should be given another chance! David Millers innings in Durbs was great. De Kocks 178 was magnificent. He will get the 200! One day.

Rossouw finally made him a part of our cricket landscape! Our bowlers were great. I just don’t think Steyn is ODI player. He should rather be saved for the Test series DOWN UNDER in NOVEMBER. Aus best player was David Warner, although I bet Imran would disagree. Amla, Duminy, Parnell, Phangiso and Behardien also did their bit!

Well done Proteas! You have given us a reason to smile in these dark times that gribs our country. Well, Cheers! Badger! Out!
